Wanna know a little secret? Giving your wedding designer a say in your color palette makes her a very happy designer. As trends go, we tend to see a lot of the same color schemes, season after season. So imagine when Kristina came to us with an open mind and the taste for something different…we were ecstatic! Kristina and Dave chose the Downtown Club, a Cescaphe venue in Philly. It sits way up high in the sky overlooking Independance Mall and boasts an incredible, ornate, all-white ballroom. When we settled on an ocean blue, emerald green, midnight blue and black palette, we knew it would look stunning in this modern dream of a space.
Kristina and her girls stayed at The Lokal in Old City, a light-filled boutique hotel perfect for those getting ready shots. After she got dolled up and stepped into her custom, couture dress, she went downstairs and met her groom for their first look with photographer Pat Robinson. He had an easy job with a crew this good looking!
Their ceremony was a heartfelt one so the tissues passed out for “tears of joy” were appropriate! The two were wed by a friend of Dave’s from the Army and the two made their way down their lantern-lit, greenery filled aisle, accompanied by paper airplanes to represent the lifetime of travel they’d already racked up! Florals from Devon & Pinkett filled the girls’ hands and our tables with shades of merlot, pink and peach to play off of our darker, dramatic colors.
We used the ocean blue and gold color scheme everywhere, from their stationery and signage to the table linens. We played up the white ballroom with white marble accents on the escort card table. Their blue-green marbelized cake from Jen Roach combined all of our elements perfectly! This kind, loving couple was a dream to plan and design for, without a doubt!
