Although Maryland might not be considered "the South" to some, it's below the Mason Dixon line so we're going with it! Colleen & Alex, while from the Philadelphia area, currently live in Maryland and wanted to bring a little Southern charm to their Pennsylvania wedding. We started with their venue, The High Point at St. Peter's. A hidden gem of sorts, this bank barn is in Malvern, PA and brings all the wood beams and hardwood floors you'd find in a rustic barn but in a modern way. The property even boasts a tiny, old chapel bursting with character that Colleen and Alex decided to get married in.
With a navy, green and purple palette, we brought the preppy playfulness that the South is known for. From Colleen's mint green shoes to her custom monogrammed bouquet ribbon and the hotel welcome boxes we designed, every detail was spot-on. Pink and white peonies combined with purple lilac were the perfect bouquet blooms for a warm summer wedding. The couple tied the knot then led a short parade over to the barn for cocktail hour on the big lawn.
We gave a gentle nod to Alex's tennis pro career with lawn games and a custom Tennis Bracket seating chart. Guests found their way to their tables where bright purple and green hydrangea centerpieces in rustic wood boxes greeted them. Menus with different "Sets" led to "Dinner being Served". We can't help it, we love puns!
A bold patterned linen and custom monogrammed table runner designated the head table overlooking the dance floor while delicate greenery floated above, winding through the wood beams. A large classic white cake with navy striped ribbon completed our prepster vibe!
